EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Adrian Peterson will be honored with a place in the Minnesota Vikings' hall of honor. The team confirmed Monday that Peterson will receive this recognition during halftime of a yet-to-be-scheduled home game in the 2026 season. The exact date remains undisclosed due to the NFL's delayed release of its full schedule.

During a visit to the Vikings' facility, Peterson learned of his induction while interacting with rookie players and discussing content for the team's media platform. A video capturing his reaction was shared by the Vikings on their social media channels.

Becoming the 29th member of the Vikings' hall of honor, Peterson's legacy includes franchise records for rushing yards (11,747) and touchdown runs (97). He ranks fifth among NFL players in career rushing yards with 14,918. His standout 2012 season earned him MVP honors. Vikings owner Mark Wilf praised Peterson's transformative impact on the franchise, noting his consistent excellence over a decade in Minnesota and hinting at his future Hall of Fame induction.
